Our team is thrilled to announce that the Axial Flux Electric Drive Unit (EDU) was named one of the six winners of the 2026 Top New Products from OEM Off-Highway! The EDU was the winner in the Electrical & Electronics category.
Launched during CONEXPO in March 2026, the EDU engineered as a complete package, the Axial Flux EDU ensures that motor, inverter, and differential operate in sync. This semi-integrated EDU platform simplifies development while delivering consistent, high-performance results.
According to OEM Off-Highway Editor-in-Chief Kathy Wells’ article, “The Top New Products award, returning for its 18th year, is designed to highlight the ingenuity of today’s design teams and showcase the innovation behind some of the latest product launches in the mobile on- and off-road equipment manufacturing space.”
Major Benefits
Some of the major benefits of the Axial Flux EDU platform are:
- Modular architecture
- High torque, compact form factor
- Flexible and scalable
- Simplified gear design
- Shared cooling system
- Independent serviceability
Proven in the Harshest Environment
The Turntide Sierra Echo-R, powered by the Turntide Axial Flux EDU, became the first purpose-built electric vehicle to qualify for and compete in the King of the Hammers Desert Challenge course. The race is designed to expose drivetrain limits under sustained vibration, load, dirt/dust, and heat. It provided a real-world proving ground for the EDU’s performance, and it excelled with no issues.
Congratulations Team
Our team is proud of this honor, and congratulate everyone involved with the design and manufacture of this award-winning platform!
